Abstract

The book Palacio Negro is an investigation that presents in a narrative and chronological way the last days of the Lecumberri  Penitentiary. It was a prison that was initially promoted as a “modern” penal, but over the years it deteriorated due to over crowding and corruption. Although in his last years an attempt was made to reverse the course of the prison through a new  penitentiary vision that configured the Ley de Normas Mínimas of 1971, its end was unpostponable.
